Third-Party Apps and Sign in with Google
Overview
Many third-party applications (Web based or phone apps that are not owned by Google) offer the option to use “sign in with Google” as an easy way to create an account and/or sign in with the service. When using the "Sign in with Google" feature, identity information and additional access permissions to Google Drive are granted to the applications. Although this method may be very convenient, that convenience comes with a privacy risk.
In order to increase the security of Google Workplace for Education and better protect student data privacy, Google is now restricting the use of the "Sign in with Google" for users in the Education Workspace who are under the age of 18.
In accordance with our District student data privacy practices, Brookline can only allow the use of the "Sign in with Google" feature for app vendors for which we have a signed Student Data Privacy Agreement. A list of apps with signed agreements is available here: PSB Recommended EdTech Tools
Note: Although the “Sign in with Google” feature may be disabled, Brookline is not necessarily blocking access to the site itself.

Students attempting to use the "Sign in with Google" feature will see this message unless the application/tool has a Data Privacy Agreement with Brookline.
Manage the Third-Party App Access to Your Google Drive
Google allows you to grant Third-Party applications access to your Google Drive. The applications request the access needed to function properly. For example, a scheduling app may request access to your calendar. However, it's very easy to just select "Allow All".
You have likely given many applications access to your drive and you may not be using all of the apps. It's recommended that you check your account’s connections to third party apps and delete any unneeded connections. You may be surprised at some of the connections you've approved of.
Follow the directions below and delete any unneeded connections.
