About the Library

The Pierce School Library is the heart of our school. Built in the middle of our 3rd through 5th grade classrooms, with no doors or walls, our library provides resources for the 800 students and 100 faculty at our K-8 school. We have one certified school librarian and one part time library assistant. There are nearly 30,000 print books in our collection as well as numerous databases. Library programing such as our Mock Caldecott, MCBA Program, Mock Newbery, and Pierce Printz encourage students to read and discuss quality literature. Students in K-2 visit the library weekly, while students in grades 3-8 can come to the library independently or in a small group whenever they have a book or an information need. Classes in these grades are provided on an as needed basis.
