Welcome to Guitar and Ukulele Conservatory! I am excited to start another wonderful year of class and look forward to meeting my beginners and returning students. 

Instruments:

School instruments will be provided for students to play in class. Since school instruments stay at school, if you would like to purchase an instrument to play at home, here are a few suggestions:

Acoustic Guitars: We use two types of guitars in class: steel string or classical nylon string. If your child enjoys their assigned school instrument, I would recommend buying that kind or having them try the other kind at school in order to compare.

• Classical Guitar Recommendation: Ibanez GA1 1/2-scale Classical Acoustic

• Steel String Guitar Recommendation: Ibanez IJV Jam Pack Grand Concert Acoustic 

Ukuleles: Ukuleles come in different sizes. We use soprano (the smaller size) and concert ukuleles in class.

• Concert Ukulele Recommendation: Lanikai LU Series Concert Ukulele 

• Soprano Ukulele Recommendation: Cordoba UP100 Ukulele

Practicing at home:

Students will have in-class time to practice their instruments. You are NOT required to purchase an instrument, but if you would like to practice at home, borrowing an instrument from a friend or family member might be a good alternative to purchasing.
