Dear Parents and Students,
I hope you were able to have a fun, safe and healthy summer. I am thrilled to welcome your family to Kindergarten at the Baker School.
My background: In addition to this being my 7th year teaching Kindergarten in Brookline, I have worked in the education field for over 20 years. Before becoming a teacher I worked in the after-school setting and taught both Kindergarten and Preschool in another district. I graduated from Wheelock College with a Masters of Science in Early Childhood and received my Bachelors of Arts degree from UMass Boston. I grew up in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools when I was small.
My goal as Kindergarten teacher is to encourage student’s curiosity through structured academic activities and project-based learning. Students will also develop language skills, reinforce academic lessons, and foster social skills through play-based learning.
I look forward to developing a strong parent-teacher relationship. I hope we can discuss your child’s development in academic and social skills throughout the year by email, over the phone, through SeeSaw, or chatting when you are available. There may be times throughout the year that I ask parents to participate in class to share your creative talents or job experiences.
I look forward to partnering with you to develop a happy, successful, and safe school year for both you and your child.

Dear Kindergarten Friend,
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Mrs. Tull. I am very excited to meet you this year. In Kindergarten we will have a lot of fun, we will also learn a lot of new things. Some days may require strong mental strength (a lot of thinking), but I know you can do it. In Kindergarten you will learn and grow. You will learn how to read books and tell stories through speaking and writing. You will also learn about numbers, shapes, living things, families, friends, and much, much more! We will also play a lot together and have fun.
If you want to, you can draw a picture of yourself to bring into our class on the first day of school! I will find a special place to hang it up to help decorate our room. I can’t wait to see you on the 1st day of school!
Yours truly,
Mrs.Tull
