Watch this video
about the importance
of summer reading.
The summer reading lists below are curated by Brookline school librarians to guide and inspire your reading.
We hope you will engage in LOTS of fun reading this summer!
There are no specific summer reading requirements for students entering grades K - 5 except that you read a lot!
Students entering 6th - 8th grades are expected to read at least three just-right books of different genres.
Students entering 9th grade are expected to read at least three books of their choice and to log these books by making a copy of the high school student log linked on the website.
We hope all students will read for at least several hours each week and log their reading so that they feel accomplished. While logs are not required, they are a great way to stay on track and motivated.
You can make your own log or print and use one of the logs linked below.
Teachers will love to see your log in the fall so they can know all of the great books you've read!
How many lines can you fill on this fun bingo challenge?
Can you read one book from each of these genres?
Can you rack up 24 hours of reading?
