Remote Learning Applications

The Educational Technology Specialist has created this collection of applications that will help you share content with your students remotely. Although there are MANY ways to accomplish this, these are a few of our favorite applications for students and teachers.

Stay Connected-Distance Learning Basic Toolkit

Google meet is a great and secure way to host online meetings with your students. Google Meet is one of the tools in our G Suite toolbox. We have a Student Privacy agreement in place that ensures student data is protected.

We strongly endorse the use of Meet for periodic class meetings. It’s a great way for students to maintain a connection with their class and school.

Keep in mind if you are creating your own videos you do not need to upload to YouTube. You can upload videos directly to google drive and change sharing permissions to "Anyone in PSB with link" (if only for PSBMA users) or "Anyone with the link" (for parents/any users outside our domain).

When using YouTube videos to push content out to students it is best to embed YouTube clips into a google slide or google form. This strategy will strip the video of any ads, comments, and suggested videos at completion of video. If you link students directly to YouTube site you lost them and good luck trying to get them back on task. They are now caught down the rabbit hole of watching one suggested video after another.
