A few things about Mrs. Bates

I live in Westwood with my husband and our two kids, Jacqueline and John. Jacqueline turns 10 in September and will be in 4th grade. John turns 8 in September and will be in 2nd grade!

I love to watch and listen to birds in my backyard. Hearing an owl at night and seeing a hummingbird visit our feeder are two of my favorite things. 

My family and I love to spend time in Brewster, Cape Cod. We ride bikes, look for minnows and hermit crabs at low tide, collect shells, swim, and eat as much ice cream as possible!

I love winter! I wait all year for puzzles by the fire, snow days, ice fishing, and skiing at Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire.

My favorite foods are anything sweet. Cake, cookies, ice cream - you name it, I love it!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love all the spooky, fall things.  Growing up Hocus Pocus was one of my favorite movies. Now I love watching it every fall with Jacqueline and John!

After 15 years teaching First Grade at Baker School, this is my first year teaching Second Grade! 

I loved getting to know so many of you last year. I am so excited and lucky to get to spend another year with you!
