Prairie Seeds Academy intertwines environmental education through all content areas to create environmentally responsible citizens. Students increase their environmental awareness and gain knowledge through core subjects, specials, and electives, are actively engaged in field experiences, learn skills to be sustainable, and take action to create positive changes within the school and community.

Outdoor Learning Environment:PSA's large campus provides ideal outdoor learning spaces such as an orchard, garden, outdoor classroom, woods, and soon-to-come pollinator garden.
Think Before You Throw: PSA students and staff compost organic materials to reduce landfill waste.
Students learn the importance of hydroponics to create a more sustainable future. Then, donate crops from our hydroponics system and garden to the community.
Clubs: National Honor Society, Positive Students in Action, and Summer Gardening Club contribute to our local and global community through volunteering and creating environmentally-friendly actions.
Committees: Staff work together to research, develop, and implement up-to-date environmental education resources, learning experiences, and field trips for all PSA students.
Environmental education is integrated throughout core classes, including high school electives such as Intro. to Engineering (with a green STEM focus), Environmental Adventures, and Outdoor Recreation Fall/Spring.
PSA is authorized by Osprey Wilds Charter School Division whose mission is to authorize a portfolio of high performing charter schools that instill a connection and commitment to the environment in their school communities, while working towards a healthy planet where all people live in balance with the Earth.
