Our afterschool Clarinet Band program introduces students to the exciting world of instrumental music while supporting both beginning and developing players. Whether students are picking up the clarinet for the first time or building on prior experience, this program helps young musicians strengthen their skills, confidence, musicality, and enjoyment of making music in a fun and supportive environment.
Students will learn and refine:
Proper clarinet assembly, care, and maintenance
Strong playing fundamentals including posture, breathing, embouchure, and tone production
Finger coordination and agility across an expanding range of notes
Techniques such as articulation, tonguing, slurring, phrasing, and dynamics
How to produce a clear, steady, expressive sound
Students will build and deepen their understanding of:
Reading music (notes, rhythms, and symbols)
Playing simple songs through more varied and challenging musical pieces
Playing Together to help develop active listening and collaboration
Skills Developed

Teachers provide step-by-step guidance in a positive and encouraging atmosphere where students of varying experience levels can succeed. No prior experience is required for beginners, and experienced students are supported as they continue to grow musically.
