Panther of the Month

May 2022 - Griffin Anderson, Chase Nash, Preston Shearer, Lexie Shearer

Griffin and Chase placed 2nd at the Zone 6 JV Boys Doubles badminton tournament. Preston and Lexie also placed 2nd at the Zone 6 tournament in the JV Mixed Doubles section. Both teams will compete at Badminton Provincials in Winnipeg on May 6-8, 2022. The badminton team is coached by Mr. Josh Hoppe.

December 2019 - Tyson Sholdice

During the last game of the 2019 calendar year, the GCB Wildcats played in the Christmas game against the Killarney Raiders. Tyson Sholdice came through in the first period with a wrap around goal to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead. Tyson has three goals on the season, including a game winner against Minnedosa. This is Tyson's first year as a Wildcat. Tyson also plays basketball and baseball.

November 2019 - Hayden Feschuk

Hayden recently helped the JV girls volleyball team to a 4th place finish at the JV Volleyball Provincials. The Panthers defeated Prairie Mountain and Warren in the round robin and then defeated the home team, Gabrielle-Roy, and Ebb and Flow in the playoffs. Hayden was a consistent attacker, strong server, and reliable passer. Hayden was named a Provincial All Star.

October 2019 - Braden Haslen

Braden plays for the Neepawa Tigers football team, who play in the Rural Manitoba Football League. Braden currently leads the team in receptions (29), receiving yards (493), and receiving touchdowns (6). Braden plays on both sides of the ball; playing defensively as a cornerback/safety. He currently has 7 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, and 2 defensive touchdowns. Braden is in Grade 11 and also participates in basketball, badminton, and track and field.

March 7, 2019 - Kjya Fehr

In her final home game as a Panther, Kjya had arguably the best game of her career. Kjya had five blocks and affected many other shots near the basket. Kjya finished the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

February 12, 2019 - Brandon McCulloch

Brandon had three points in three games for the Wildcats this past weekend, including the shootout game winner against Reston. Brandon is a multi sport athlete, who also had 20 points against Prairie Mountain in a Zone 6 basketball league game. Brandon is the point guard for the Varsity boys team and the 2nd line centre for the GCB Wildcats.

February 4, 2019 - Jeana Barr

Jeana averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals a game in the girls' second place finish at the Elm Creek Tournament. Her effort also earned herself a spot on the tournament all star team. Jeana is the starting shooting guard for the Varsity girls basketball team.

January 21st, 2019 - Taurie LaLonde

Taurie recorded 25 rebounds and two points in the Varsity boys game this week. Taurie comes off the bench for the Varsity team and often gives them a spark with his rebounding and mid range jump shot.

January 14th, 2019 - James Spellman IV

James averaged a double double at the Ste. Rose Tournament, helping the Panthers come away with the tournament championship. James is the starting wing for the Varsity Boys basketball team.
