ILA-P0 - Religious Instruction Release Time

Instruction in religion may be conducted if authorized by a by-law of the School Board, or if a petition is presented to the Board and signed by the parents or guardians of at least 10 children attending schools having one or two classrooms, or the parents or guardians of at least 25 children attending 3 or more classrooms.  In each case, a by-law must be passed.

Instruction shall not exceed 2½ hours per week and be conducted by a minister, priest, rabbi or other spiritual leader, or by any person including a Teacher authorized by the group.

Participation in such activities shall be with the approval of the parents or guardians, or be the wish of anyone who has reached the age of majority.  PSA. 80, 81, 82
