IEA-P1 - Nursery School and Kindergarten Programming

Space

The Prairie Spirit School Division will provide space for a Nursery program when:

i) a request has been made by the parents to the Board of Trustees;

ii) there is sufficient space in the school;

iii) the Principal and Kindergarten Teacher support the provision of the requested program.

Transportation

Transportation for students enrolled in any Nursery program will be the responsibility of parents/guardians.

Eligibility

Any child whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31st may enter Kindergarten at the opening of school in September of the same year.  The presentation of appropriate documentation (e.g., proof of age, residency, legal guardianship) shall be required of each child before enrollment in a Kindergarten class.  An advance registration for Kindergarten classes will be conducted before May 30th.  During the summer vacation, registration will be accepted at the School Division Office. Instruction

Kindergarten will normally be offered as a half-time program.
