Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline or a suitable combination of experience and training. Required or in progress: Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the HR field, preference to candidates with leadership experience.
Previous experience in developing, maintaining and evaluating human resource management programs is essential.
HR experience in unionized environments is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively communicating to large staff groups and effectively managing difficult conversations.
Experience with process improvement and the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks at the same time.
Ability to work flexible hours as required.
Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle during working hours.
Position Summary: The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Administration team with a wide range of human resource functions and programs including, but not limited to, recruitment and orientation, labour relations, performance management and appraisal, compliance, review of compensations, administration and record keeping, and staff development.
Supports Senior Administration with the development of HR strategies and procedures that support long-term strategic goals.
Supports full-cycle recruitment and selection function, including coordination of staff orientation program
Maintains and supports positive employee and labour relations by addressing grievances or other concerns
Oversees the administration of the annual performance review process and serves as a resource to managers and supervisors in the delivery of performance appraisals and the promotion of career opportunities
Assesses training needs and coordinates support staff professional development.
Performs on-going policy administration and supports the general human resource administration functions as they relate to personnel file maintenance and correspondence.
Analyzes and reports to Senior Administration on key human resource metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal employment legislation and regulations
Administers employment policy and collective agreements
Perform other HR-related duties as assigned
