A Teacher is considered to be on probation for the first year of employment. After the Teacher is hired on a Teacher-General Agreement and starts his/her second year of employment with the Division, tenure is obtained.
The positions of Principal, other administrative positions, or Resource positions hold no security of tenure per se, but only insofar as they are Teacher positions. [PSA 92(4)]
