Members of the selection committee - interviews
Short-listed candidates for the appointment to the position of Principal and Vice-Principal will be interviewed by a committee arranged by the Superintendent’s department. The Principal will be involved in interviews for the appointment of a Vice-Principal. The school staff, the student body, and the Advisory Council, or equivalent, may be invited to submit a profile of desirable qualities.
Pre-interview
The Superintendent’s department will:
Review the profile of desirable qualities submitted by the school staff, the Advisory Council, or equivalent, and the student body, if applicable;
Develop a questionnaire for the interviews;
Shortlist all applications for the position;
Effect a reference check of short-listed applicants.
Decision-making
The Superintendent’s department will:
Review input from staff, Advisory Council and student body, if applicable;
Review information resulting from reference checks;
Review information resulting from the interviews;
Make a recommendation to the Board for appointment.
The Board will make the final decision.
