All Division buses shall stop at all controlled or uncontrolled railway crossings located outside the boundaries of any city, town or village in the manner described in the Bus Driver’s Handbook while transporting students. In addition, the Hazard Warning Lights are to be activated prior to stopping at, and deactivated upon proceeding across the railway crossing.

The Driver shall prepare to stop at the railway crossing in the manner described in the Bus Driver’s Handbook, but will pull to the right only when travelling in the left-hand lane and the right- hand lane is either a travelled lane or parking lane. If no parking lane is present, the Driver will remain in the right-hand most travelled lane. In a situation where the right-hand lane is a turning lane, the Driver will remain in the travelled lane.
School Bus Lighting System
The School Bus Drivers shall use the school bus lighting system in addition to that required in the Bus Driver’s Handbook as follows:
When the vehicle is in operation - headlamps, tail lamps and clearance lamps shall be used at all times, including daylight hours, unless circumstances require that the driver turn off the lights.
When the vehicle is stopped on the shoulder of a paved highway or municipal road - activate hazard warning lights.
Strobe lights must be on at all times when the bus is running.
