EG-P0 - Printing and Duplicating Services and Copyright Infringement

Section E:  Operations (Property and Transportation)

The printing and duplicating of documents have become essential to the efficient operation of schools and offices.   The School Division provides equipment to fill this need, subject to proper financial budgeting arrangements.

Duplicating equipment is available for all schools of the Division.  The Board recognizes that the printed work handed out to pupils should be of good clear quality.  At the same time, however, Teachers are directed to use the most economical means to achieve that purpose.

Staff must respect the right to copy as outlined in Procedure EG-P as required by Canadian Ministers of Education, Canada (MEC).  The Prairie Spirit School Division clearly does not condone the use of illegally obtained materials such as photocopied text or “pirated” computer software.
