The Division supports a secure climate, conducive to teaching and learning, free from threat, harassment, and any type of bullying behaviour. This Code of Conduct recognizes the importance of parents/guardians as essential partners in fostering a safe, caring, and inclusive school environment, in alignment with the Provincial Code of Conduct.
Teachers will teach the required Manitoba Education and Advanced Learning curriculum. Teachers will provide appropriate instruction for students;
They will be informed of any decisions regarding specialized assessments or interventions for their child.
Administrators will support clear outcome based learning activities and divisionally supported assessment and reporting practices.
Administrators will exhibit leadership and actively supervise school programs.
They will be informed of the school’s and/or school division’s student and staff code of conduct.
Reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of students to and from school, and while in school;
Treating school staff with courtesy and respect;
Instilling in their child:
An understanding of the importance of education;
Respect for property and resources;
Respect for the rights of fellow students and staff;
Recognition of the authority of the school staff to ensure a safe, secure, inclusive learning environment;
Cooperating with school staff and administration in the implementation of intervention and response strategies.
Their child’s regular attendance in classes and informing the school when their child will be absent;
Assuming responsibility, with the student, where school and/or division property is destroyed, damaged, or lost as a result of an intentional or negligent act of that student.
