Local chapters of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) are governed by two sets of documents: the NJHS National Constitution and the local chapter bylaws.
To become a member of NJHS, you must be selected as a candidate by your chapter’s faculty council. Students who meet their chapter’s cumulative GPA requirement are then considered for membership on the basis of service, leadership, citizenship and character. You may be asked to complete a candidate form created and distributed by your local chapter.
Membership is determined by a majority vote of the faculty council, following an evaluation of candidates’ qualifications for membership.
KMS NJHS students worked tirelessly over the Summer to still provide service to their communities in spite of COVID-19. They created gift baskets for neighbors, left thank you cards and small thank you gifts for their mail person, decorated peace rocks to beautify their yards and created positive Chalk Walk messages.
Perspective members are required to have 10 hours of service to their community for consideration.
