• This week in math, students worked so hard on math MCAS. I was so proud of them!

• We then launched our final module, data and statistics.

• We practiced writing and identifying categorical and numerical statistical questions.

• We analyzed and created dot plots from data sets.

• Esta semana, em matemática, os alunos trabalharam arduamente no MCAS de matemática. Fiquei tão orgulhosa deles!

• Lançamos então o nosso módulo final, dados e estatísticas.

• Praticamos a escrita e a identificação de questões estatísticas categóricas e numéricas.

• Analisamos e criamos gráficos de pontos a partir de conjuntos de dados.

• هذا الأسبوع في حصة الرياضيات، بذل الطلاب جهدًا كبيرًا في اختبار MCAS للرياضيات. كنت فخورًا بهم جدًا!

• This week in science, we reviewed cell organelles. 

• We concentrated on recognizing organelles by their image. 

• We reviewed organelles' roles in the cell by creating thematic analogies for the cell including: a city, a sports team, a mall, and a hospital. 

• We will begin our cell unit project after MCAS next week. 

• Esta semana, na área das ciências, revimos as organelas celulares.

• Concentramo-nos em reconhecer organelas pela sua imagem.

• Revemos o papel das organelas na célula criando analogias temáticas para a célula, incluindo: uma cidade, uma equipa desportiva, um centro comercial e um hospital.

• Iniciaremos o nosso projeto de unidade celular após o MCAS na próxima semana.

• This week in ELA, we continued the process of analyzing primary sources that tell us accurate information on what happened in Jamestown.

• Next week, we begin the next book in this module, Written in Bone.  

• Nesta semana, em ELA, continuamos o processo de análise de fontes primárias que nos fornecem informações precisas sobre o que aconteceu em Jamestown.

• Na próxima semana, começaremos o próximo livro deste módulo, "Escrito em Osso".

• هذا الأسبوع في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية، واصلنا عملية تحليل المصادر الأولية التي تُزوّدنا بمعلومات دقيقة حول ما حدث في جيمستاون. وفي الأسبوع المقبل، نبدأ الكتاب التالي في هذه الوحدة، "مكتوب في العظام".

• Last week in math, we completed our fifth module by exploring the formulas for volume of a rectangular prism. 

• We applied those formulas to real world and mathematical problems.

• We used the volume formulas to solve for the volume of composite solids by decomposing the solids into multiple rectangular prisms.

• We ended the week by taking our end of module assessment and discussing math MCAS, which students will take Monday and Tuesday.

• Na semana passada, em matemática, concluímos o nosso quinto módulo explorando as fórmulas do volume de um prisma retangular. 

• Aplicamos estas fórmulas a problemas matemáticos e do mundo real.

• Utilizamos as fórmulas de volume para calcular o volume de sólidos compostos decompondo os sólidos em vários prismas retangulares.

• This week we wrapped up our unit on evidence of evolution. Our end of module assessment was Wednesday. 

• We began our new unit, cells and life, on Thursday by reading "Cells: An Owner's Handbook".

• On Friday, we discussed what characteristics all living things share. 

• Esta semana concluímos a nossa unidade sobre as evidências da evolução. A nossa avaliação de fim de módulo foi na quarta-feira.

• Começamos a nossa nova unidade, células e vida, na quinta-feira, lendo "Células: Manual do Proprietário".

• Na sexta-feira, discutimos que características todos os seres vivos partilham.

• يوم الجمعة، ناقشنا الخصائص المشتركة بين جميع الكائنات الحية.

• This week in ELA, students completed their first argumentative essay. They gathered evidence to support both Reverend Hunt and Captain Smith having an impact on Samuel's development. Once they collected evidence for both characters, students made their claim, and wrote two argumentative paragraphs to support their idea.

• To end the week, we've begun the process of looking at the historical evidence of the events in Jamestown to prepare for our next book, 'Written in Bone'. This will be the first nonfiction book we read in ELA!

• Esta semana, na aula de Inglês (ELA), os alunos concluíram sua primeira redação argumentativa. Eles reuniram evidências que comprovam a influência do Reverendo Hunt e do Capitão Smith no desenvolvimento de Samuel. Após coletarem evidências de ambos os personagens, os alunos apresentaram suas alegações e escreveram dois parágrafos argumentativos para fundamentar sua ideia.

• Para encerrar a semana, iniciamos o processo de análise das evidências históricas dos eventos em Jamestown para nos prepararmos para o nosso próximo livro, "Written in Bone" (Escrito em Osso). Este será o primeiro livro de não ficção que leremos na aula de Inglês!

• هذا الأسبوع في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية، أكمل الطلاب مقالهم الجدلي الأول. جمعوا أدلة تدعم تأثير كلٍّ من القس هانت والكابتن سميث على تطور شخصية صموئيل. بعد جمع الأدلة لكلا الشخصيتين، طرح الطلاب ادعاءاتهم، وكتبوا فقرتين جدليتين لدعم فكرتهم.

• وفي ختام هذا الأسبوع، بدأنا عملية دراسة الأدلة التاريخية لأحداث جيمستاون استعدادًا لكتابنا القادم "مكتوب في العظام". سيكون هذا أول كتاب غير روائي نقرأه في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية!
