General Information
Tidbits about Room 26
Hello Room 26 Families!
Welcome to kindergarten! We are so excited to begin our adventure together. Below, I have outlined some general information about our class in order to help the first few weeks run smoothly. Thank you in advance!
Take Home Folders:
At our open house, your student was given a folder to serve as a home-school communicator. Please make sure to check this folder everyday and return it to school with your student. This folder will go home from school even if it is empty.
Dismissal:
Your child will be coming home from their orientation day with a pencil necklace. This necklace serves two purposes:
It helps the adults in the building who are assisting with arrival and dismissal identify who the kindergarten students are.
We write how the children are being dismissed on the tag so there is no confusion as to how they are going home.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD WEARS THE NECKLACE TO SCHOOL ON THEIR NEXT IN-SCHOOL DAY AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Dismissal changes:
I MUST have a note or email to me (hgohr@prsd.org) AND bagnallattendance@prsd.org with any changes to your child’s dismissal procedure. Please remember I may not have a chance to check email after lunch time.
Lunch:
Please review your child’s lunch plans (lunch from home or buying) with them every morning.
Snack:
As part of the kindergarten program, there is a scheduled time for snack. We notice many of the children eat their snack at lunch and do not have a snack for snack time. It is helpful to pack snack in a separate lunch box or pocket in your students backpack. Please keep in mind snack time is only 15 minutes and ALL snacks must be nut free.
Extra clothes:
Accidents and spills happen! It is helpful for us to have a change of clothes for these reasons. All children should also have a paint shirt to keep at school. An oversized t-shirt works well. Please send the change of clothes and paint shirt in two gallon separate zip log bags, labeled with your student’s name.
Communication:
I will be sending a weekly newsletter out by email each Thursday. You can also access information on my classroom website. You can access my page using the Bagnall School website (Home, Class Pages, Kindergarten, Miss Gohr) or by using this link https://sites.google.com/prsd.org/missgohr-k/home. The best way to reach me is by email hgohr@prsd.org.
