My name is Shannon LaPointe, and I am the fifth-grade special education teacher at Bagnall. This will be my fifth year at Bagnall, and I truly love teaching this age group!
I earned my Master’s degree in Education from Merrimack College. I have lived in Groveland for over 10 years and have two boys of my own. My oldest just headed off to middle school, and my youngest attends school in a neighboring community.
When I am not teaching, one of my favorite things to do is continue my own education, I always seem to be taking a class! I am currently continuing my studies at Salem State University. I also love taking day trips with my boys and trying new restaurants along the way. My favorite sport is football, BUT in my house, baseball definitely takes center stage!
I love sunflowers because they remind me so much of our students. Every sunflower grows in its own way and at its own pace, but each one turns toward the light and has the potential to bloom beautifully. In my classroom, I hope to help every student recognize their strengths, build confidence, overcome challenges, and continue growing throughout the year. Just like a field of sunflowers, our differences are part of what makes our classroom community so special.
I am so happy to be your child’s teacher this year and look forward to getting to know your family. I believe that strong connections between home and school are an important part of helping students feel supported and successful.
Please feel free to reach out anytime. I am always happy to answer questions, hear your concerns, or celebrate your child’s successes with you.
