MINECRAFT, VIDEO GAMES & CODE LAB
For students entering Grades 5-12
This session is all about having fun while exploring games. Students spend time playing Minecraft, trying new worlds, and experimenting with simple mods. We mix in easy, beginner-friendly coding in Code.org, Scratch, and Unity so kids can see how games work without any pressure. Everyone can explore at their own pace and go as deep as they want.
What the week includes:
Minecraft play and challenges
Light coding in Code.org and Scratch
Beginner Unity activities
Rotations through kid-friendly games
Optional deeper exploration for motivated students
The goal is a relaxed, welcoming week where students learn a little, play a lot, and feel comfortable trying new things.
VIDEO PRODUCTION
For students entering Grades 5-12
Students are encouraged to collaborate in groups, embarking on the entire production journey, starting from scriptwriting and storyboarding, all the way to bringing their narratives to life via recording and editing in Final Cut Pro. Flexibility is key, allowing students to pursue their creative visions or benefit from guided instruction to develop compelling projects, tailored to their interests and abilities.
