The Eagle Butte Boys Basketball Program is proud to host the annual Dave Rozdeba Memorial Tournament. We look forward to hosting this event for many years.
Dave Rozdeba was a former administrator, coach, and teacher at Eagle Butte High School since the school opened in 1996. Dave was many things to many people; he was hardworking, humble, and had a passion for what he did. It was obvious he loved the game of basketball by spending any of his free time coaching. He coached the Senior Men's Talons basketball team for several years; helped with the Lady Talons’ team as well as created his own club basketball team called the Golden Hawks. Basketball is a team sport and Dave made sure of this! He always made sure everyone was involved, supported and thanked. He set examples by being the first and last one out of the gym. These characteristics of his are what we try to encourage and follow in honour of him. Unfortunately, in 2017 Dave passed away from cancer - but through his colleagues, students, friends and especially his family, his legacy lives on here at Eagle Butte High School. These are just a few of the reasons why this tournament will continue on in his name for years to come!
