Which level are you on?

LEVEL 1 (Preschool)

Picnics need food! 

Try one of the following food games:

Activity #1: List all of the items and food you need to take on a picnic. Is there a new type of food you would like to take along? Where would you go? Would you do anything besides eat? Write down the details for your perfect picnic.

Activity #2:  Do one of the rhyming activities from English Worksheets Land. Write your answers in your Writer's Notebook and show your teacher.


LEVEL 2 (Beginning Kindergarten)

Activity #1: Visit the "Ocean Portal". Study about one of the sea creatures on this webpage, and write the name of the creature and three interesting facts about what you learned about it in your Writer's Notebook. 


Activity #2: When you are finished writing, show it to your teacher. You can now play one of the games or take one of the quizzes on this awesome website. You may also learn about another animal of the sea!



LEVEL 3 (Beginning - Middle Kindergarten)

Activity #1: Play one of the games on "Count the Sounds". Write your answers in your Writer's Notebook or on a piece of paper and show it to your teacher.


Activity #2: Play a game from the "Syllable Sorting" website. Write each word and draw a line where the syllables are when you say the word out loud. Show your awesome work to your teacher.


Activity #3: Draw a snowy scene, and once you are finished, describe the objects with adjectives on the back of your drawing! For example, if you draw a snowman, what kind of snowman it is? Is it a large snowman, a frozen snowman, a funny snowman? Use as many adjectives as you can! Show it to your teacher when you have finished!


LEVEL 4 (Middle - End of Kindergarten)

Activity #1: Go on a sound treasure hunt around the classroom. Choose a sound, like /p/, and make a list of all the items in the room that either begin or end with that same sound. Show your list to your teacher.


Activity #2: My name begins like... Draw a picture of something that begins with the same beginning sound as your name. Show your teacher!


Activity #3: Watch this video about Animals of the Amazon Rainforest. Pause the video and write down each animal's name correctly. Then write 1-2 adjectives that describe that animal. Can you say the name of each animal correctly? What did you learn? Tell your teacher!


LEVEL 5 (End of Kindergarten)

Activity #1: Write down in your Writer's Notebook the CVC words for the pictures you see on this CVC worksheet. Make sure you write the correct vowel sound! Show your teacher when you are done.


Activity #2: Choose another CVC activity to do on English Worksheets Land. Write down your answers and show your teacher!


Activity #3: Watch this video about Scotland. Write 3 interesting facts you learned about this country in your Writer's Notebook.


LEVEL 6 (Beginning of First Grade)

Activity #1: Play Drop It In by adding the correct short vowel to each word. Write the words in your Writer's Notebook and show your teacher.


Activity #2: Write down your answers for the Complete the Word activity. Be sure to write in the correct short vowel sound, and show your teacher!


Activity #3: Watch this video about France. When you are finished, draw and color the flag of France and write 2 interesting facts you learned in your Writer's Notebook.


LEVEL 7 (Beginning - Middle First Grade)

Activity #1: Change each word by adding a "silent e"  to it in this activity. Write the words in your Writer's Notebook and show your teacher.


Activity #2: CVCe Word Challenge - Can you make word families correctly? Give it a try! Show your teacher once you have written them!


Activity #3: What do you know about The Serengeti?  Write 2-3 interesting facts you learned in your Writer's Notebook.


LEVEL 8 (Middle - End of First Grade)

Activity #1: Do the Breaking Words Down activity by correctly drawing a line between syllables. Write the words in your Writer's Notebook and show your teacher.


Activity #2: Try this Multiple Meaning Words Quiz. Can you get all the answers correct?


Activity #3: Watch this video with Cool Facts About Antarctica. Draw an Antarctica scene and write 1 interesting fact you learned in your Writer's Notebook.


LEVEL 9 (End of First Grade)

Activity #1: Do one of the  Word Sorting Games on this website. Write the answers in your Writer's Notebook and show your teacher.


Activity #2: Try this R-Controlled Races online game. Each key will start a car and move it. Can you get all the answers correct?


Activity #3: Enjoy watching this video about Ancient Egypt! Write 1 interesting fact you learned in your Writer's Notebook.


LEVEL 10 (Beginning of Second Grade)

Activity #1: Do this Suffix Matching Game. Were you able to get all of the words correct?


Activity #2: Can you do both Unscramble Sentences Level 1 AND Unscramble Sentences Level 2? Put the words in the correct order, then check to see if you are right!


Activity #3: Take a tour of a real English Garden. What do you think of it? Would you like to have a garden or yard like this? Would you be willing to take care of it?  Write your answers to these questions in your Writer's Notebook.


LEVEL 11 (Middle of Second Grade)

Activity #1: Play the Soft C and Soft G Balloon Pop Game! Can you get all the answers correct?

Activity #2: Do you know synonyms and antonyms? Play Step Right Up and earn prizes!

Activity #3: Learn about Switzerland! Write three fascinating facts you have learned about this amazing country!


LEVEL 12 (End of Second Grade)

Activity #1: Play the Soft C and Soft G Balloon Pop Game! Can you get all the answers correct?

Activity #2: Do you know synonyms and antonyms? Play Step Right Up and earn prizes!

Activity #3: Watch this video about Russia! What did you learn about this gigantic country? Write down three interesting facts you want to remember and show them to your teacher.


LEVEL 13 (Beginning of Third Grade)

Activity #1: Help Avery and Jeremiah make words using base words, prefixes, and suffixes in this game. Read the word parts carefully!

Activity #2: Let's learn about idioms, through quizzes, games and fun activities! Go to Idioms on Tiny Tap. Do all of the activities.

Activity #3: India has a very special rainforest area called the Western Ghats. Watch the short video. Write two things you have learned and show it to your teacher.


LEVEL 14 (Middle of Third Grade)

Activity #1: Play the Big Fish Game by writing the prefix and base word on each fish. Show your teacher when you are finished.

Activity #2: Try out the You Can Do Analogies! Trivia Quiz online! Submit your answers to see if you get all of them correct. Think carefully!

Activity #3: Take a trip to Japan! Write about three things you have learned about Japan, and show your teacher. 

LEVEL 15 (End of Third Grade)

Activity #1: Figure out the meaning of the words by reading each sentence on this Gameshow Quiz! Does the word match the meaning?

Activity #2: Can you find each of these sight words in the pictures? Try all levels of Out of Sight Words

Activity #3: Watch A Quick Guide to China. Write at least three things that were invented in China. Do you like anything Chinese? Write about this, too, then show your teacher your writing. Use good handwriting and punctuation.

LEVEL 16 (Beginning of Fourth Grade)

Activity #1: Help Remainder the dog find the meanings of Latin-based root words in Rooting Out Words. Start with the easy level of "Numbers", then move on to a different level.

Activity #2:  Try the Open the Box version of this multiple meaning word game. 

Activity #3: What do you know about The Great Barrier Reef? Watch this video and write down three facts you learned. Show your teacher your writing when you are finished.

LEVEL 17 (Middle of Fourth Grade)

Activity #1: Find the word with a suffix in each of the nine sentences on Sufferin' Suffixes. Break the word into parts by writing each part down in your Writer's Notebook. Show your work to your teacher when you are done.

Activity #2: Play The Idioms Game. Have you ever heard someone say one of these idioms? Have you ever said one of these idioms? Have fun!

Activity #3: Would you like to visit Hawaii? After watching Hawaii Facts for Kids, write a paragraph about why you would or would not like to go there. Show your good paragraph to your teacher when you are finished.

LEVEL 18 (End of Fourth Grade)

Activity #1: Write your own diamante poem online. Show your teacher before leaving the website. 

Activity #2: Test your punctuation and capitalization skills on Fun Factory!

Activity #3: Learn more about the awesome country of Mexico! Write at least three things you want to remember about this wonderful place!

LEVEL 19 (Beginning of Fifth Grade)

Activity #1: Test your knowledge by seeing how many words you can think of for each of the following Greek root words. Show them to your teacher when you have finished.

Activity #2: Can you conquer this Shades of Meaning game? Press the "play" button on the left side of the screen to start. Say your answer before checking it. Good luck!

Activity #3: How would you describe the Southwestern USA? After watching this video, make a list of 5-10 adjectives that tell what this part of the world is like. Have you ever been to any of the places you saw?

LEVEL 20 (Middle of Fifth Grade)

Activity #1: Play this Analogies-2 game. Think about how the words compare to each other.

Activity #2: Choose 5 words from the Sticky Words list. Use the clues to write the correct definitions. Show them to your teacher.

Activity #3: Take the quiz at the end of this video about Ancient Greece. How did you do?

LEVEL 21 (End of Fifth Grade)

Activity #1: Play Parts of Speech Asteroids. Do you know them all?

Activity #2: Do you have what it takes to become an Extreme Sentence Surgeon? Use your superior skills to fix all of the errors in two paragraphs to earn your Ph.D. in extreme sentence surgery! Read the directions carefully before beginning this activity.

Activity #3: Write three things you learned after watching Timeline of Ancient Mesopotamia. Show your teacher when you have finished.
