Q: How will my child get help when he/she need it?
A: Students will have access to their teacher via:
Google Classroom: Students will be able to communicate with their teachers mainly through their Google Classroom. This platform has a feature called Stream, there students can post questions to their teachers. Class Dojo will be used mainly for communication between teacher and parents.
Zoom Conferencing or Google Meets: Additionally to Google Classroom, each teacher will have a virtual meeting with their students through Zoom Conferencing or Google Meets. The information about these meetings will be posting in their Google Classroom. Students can use the virtual meetings to ask questions and clarifications.
Q: Where can my student get lunch? When is lunch available?
A . As of Tuesday, April 7, Providence Public Schools will move to a twice weekly free meal distribution for children ages 18 and younger. Distribution will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 14 sites throughout the city. This program is offered in coordination with Sodexo Food Services and will continue as long as distance learning is in place.
For the convenience of area families, the district will add three new distribution sites beginning Tuesday: Allan Shawn Feinstein Elementary School, Times2 Academy and Webster Elementary School. The full listing of Grab and Go Meal sites is below.
