Q: What does my student do during their scheduled PLT class and during advisory?

A: During Advisory and PLT students can:

• Take notes on the focus areas for any of their classes on Summit Learning

• Request and take a content assessment for any of their classes on Summit Learning

• Continue to complete checkpoints or a final product within a project on Summit Learning

• Reach out to their teachers on Google Mail or Zoom to ask a question or get suppo

Q: How will my student get help when they need it?

A: Students will have access to their teacher via:

• Zoom Conferencing -- each day every teacher will be posting a link to their conference meetings that students are to join. Students will receive instruction through this link and be able to ask questions.

• Google Mail: Students can email their teachers with any questions they have outside of their class time. All teacher emails are listed under their photo on their content page on this site.

Grab and Go Meal Program Transitions to Twice a Week Distribution

Several days’ worth of meals to be distributed on Tuesdays and Fridays. Three new distribution sites added in Providence

As of Tuesday, April 7, Providence Public Schools will move to a twice weekly free meal distribution for children ages 18 and younger. Distribution will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 14 sites throughout the city. This program is offered in coordination with Sodexo Food Services and will continue as long as distance learning is in place.

For the convenience of area families, the district will add three new distribution sites beginning Tuesday: Allan Shawn Feinstein Elementary School, Times² Academy and Webster Elementary School.

A partir del martes 7 de abril, las Escuelas Públicas de Providence pasarán a una distribución de comidas gratis dos veces por semana para niños de 18 años o menos. Tuesday food distribution will include three breakfast and three lunch packages. Friday food distribution will include four breakfast and four lunch packages. Meal will be distributed in 7- to 8-pound boxes to get families through the week. Social distancing practices will be followed.

Families of Providence Public School students can share their students’ ID numbers to pick up food for their children without their children being present.

Free, packaged dinner meals are also available on the same days (from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) to youth 18 and under at all 11 Providence Recreation Centers. More information
