2023 Family Survey is Live!
Dear Families,
Our district values your feedback! We are asking you to take a brief survey to tell us about your experience with Mount Pleasant High School. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think!
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (401)-456-9181.
Why your feedback is important:
Engaging families in their children’s education is a critical pathway to improving student outcomes, so increasing family participation has become a major priority for schools and districts.
Family-school relationships are partnerships between groups of people who are invested in student improvement and success.

Message from Principal Delaney:
At Mount Pleasant High School, your child’s safety and well-being are our number one priority. With the start of the third quarter, we would like to encourage and support each student with a few reminders that will reduce the number of student absences and tardies, resulting in increased learning time with fewer classroom disruptions, and increasing the safety metrics on our campus.
NEW DISMISSAL PROCEDURE
Effective immediately, No parent will be allowed to drive in the circle from 3:15 pm-4:00 pm for the safety of our students.
Outside Food
Students are not allowed to order any food during the hours of 8:30 am-3:45 pm. For safety reasons, we do not allow any students to order and receive food from ANY delivery service. Students are also not allowed to leave campus to get food and then return. Food will be confiscated and students will receive consequences.
Opening Doors Unauthorized
All visitors must enter through the main doors of the school and sign in with office staff. Any student seen opening doors for any visitors or students will receive immediate consequences.
Student drop off/pick up
As a reminder, no student should be dropped off before 8:00 am if they are not attending morning tutoring. Please do not arrive prior to this as we will not have staff available to assist. To ensure proper supervision of students and their safety, students should have secured transportation home by 4:00 pm each day. With the exception of students who are staying after school for supervised clubs or sports. Students who are not supervised will be asked to leave the building.
Ten-Ten Rule
As a continued effort to support students during each instructional period, teachers have been asked not to allow students to leave the classroom during the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of each class. These are critical times during a class as students are receiving important information regarding their lesson for the day and important notices for the next day. Considerations will be given to students who have emergency situations during these times.
Hall Sweeps
This newly enforced hall sweep program will reduce the number of students in the hallways and will assist everyone in moving through the school safely and expeditiously. In an effort to address problems with students being tardy for class and lingering in the hallways after the bell rings, the process of Hall sweeps will be strictly enforced. During announced hall sweep times, students will not be allowed to enter classrooms without a hall sweep pass. Students in hall sweep will be provided with the following consequences:
1st offense-Warning
2nd offense- Lunch and Learn (Lunch Detention)
3rd offense-Afterschool Detention
4th offense-R.I.S.E Center (In-school suspension) w/Parent Meeting and Student Support Team
5th offense-Students receiving 5 hall sweep passes in week may lead to out-of-school suspension. Mandatory meeting with Administration team, parent/s, student support team/guidance counselors.
Early Dismissals
As a reminder, any student leaving campus early regardless of age must be signed out by a parent or guardian. Students leaving campus without signing out or without permission may lead to suspension and/or parent meetings.
Thank you for your continued support in speaking with your student.

We have less than 20 days until the end of the third quarter. I encourage you to continue submitting all outstanding assignments. Many students are in danger of repeating 9th grade, but it's not too last to get back on track.
- Mr. Barnes
Juniors and Seniors: As the third quarter closes it is very important that you are completing any missing assignments for this quarter. When we return after vacation we will immediately start the 4th quarter!!!
MPHS Families - This is a reminder that the Surveyworks survey has started. If you would like to fill out the Surveyworks survey and tell how you think MPHS is doing, you can come to the school and ask to fill out a survey.
