CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Generation Nation

Be a civic leader, a voice for youth, and a positive part of the solution for your school, neighborhood, and community. Join the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Youth Council (CMYC), the official, youth-driven, and interconnected student advisory council for City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Through the CMYC, high school students meet regularly to advise community leaders, represent and serve as a collective voice for young people, learn how to solve civic challenges, and join a diverse network of young civic leaders.

City / County Government

Not old enough vote, you can still have an impact on the City of Charlotte. Consider it has never been easier to watch our elected officials make the decisions that will affect all living in Charlotte (Mecklenburg County.)

Citizen University

Their work is to spread the belief that a strong democracy depends on strong citizens — that we all have the power to make change in civic life and the responsibility to try.

HELP STAFF A LOCAL POLLING PLACE

Due to COVID-19, area polling stations are facing an unprecedented shortage of poll workers that could mean closed polling places and long delays. You can help make sure we have a safe, fair, efficient election for all voters.
