Below is my portfolio of four projects that I have recently been involved with. Each of these projects has required me to work with a unique set of professional musicians, apply different techniques and musical skills, and play different instruments.
An online live streamed event in aid of Help Musicians UK, feauturing solo, duo and ensemble performances of Musical Theatre songs from Stage and Screen. In the performances of 'Hear My Song from Songs of a New World and 'You Will Be Found' from Dear Evan Hansen, I joined the choir as a member of the Bass section.
To create 'Take What You Need and Give The Rest Away', inspiration from artists such as Bert Jansch and Penguin Cafe Orchestra have been combined with the musical tendencies of 7 local session musicians, all underpinned by Jacob James' masterful composition throughout the EP. The pieces 'Bridge Over The Teign' and 'The Ness' feature my Alto Saxophone playing.
A test recording for a newly forming Klezmer group based in Cheltenham, for which I played Ukulele Bass, this performance of the Yiddish / Russian folk tune 'Tum Balalaika' has been captured using a classic one mic technique.
As a farewell to university, Lucy Bell and I worked together to create a performance video of 'Someone Who Loves Me' by Sara Bareilles, recorded live from her bedroom in our pyjamas. I supported her on acoustic guitar and backing vocals.
