Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found section at Rogers is overflowing right now and I would appreciate it if you would remind your child to look for any items they may have lost at school. All of the items left in the Lost & Found section after February 1st will be donated to a local charity.

Endorsement Showcase for 8th grade moving to 9th grade
On Thursday, January 24th all Rogers 8th grade students will be attending an Endorsement Showcase at Prosper High School during the school day. The goal for the showcase is to inform our students on the pathways offered in high school. The students will tour the building and see the facilities of different elective programs.
8th to 9th grade Parent Meetings
This is such an exciting time as your 8th grader plans for his/her high school options. The Prosper secondary counselors are honored to be a part of this process. We want to make sure our parents and students are aware of all the exciting options available to them during high school. On January 30 and 31, Prosper High School counselors will have parent/student meetings during your child’s Science class. During the meeting they will:
- discuss endorsements.
- discuss course selections for 9th grade.
- discuss 4-Year Plans.
- answer questions.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule meeting times. We will post all meeting information on the Rogers’ and PHS website for you to review. If you are unable to attend, we will mail home your child’s information for you to review, sign, and return to Rogers. Please look for an email that would have come from your child’s Science teacher. You will find more information about this parent meeting and the Google form that was sent out by the Science teachers.

8th grade counselor
In the event of severe weather, the decision to close schools or delay start times will be announced no later than 6:00am of the day in question.
Listed below are several ways parents and families can receive notification of severe weather closings/delayed start/early release:
- Prosper ISD ConnnectEd- Automated system that sends a pre-recorded message & text messages to all phone numbers in the database
- Severe Weather information will be posted on the PISD home page (www.prosper-isd.net)
- Local Radio & Television stations -Official announcements during inclement weather will still be made on WBAP News Talk 820 AM, KXAS Channel 5, KDFW Fox 4 News, KTVT Channel 11, and WFAA Channel 8.

Life Planning for Special Needs
Please join us for "Life Planning for Special Needs," Wednesday, January 9, 2019, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Cockrell Elementary. This is important information for parents of children of all ages. A representative from For Families of Special Needs, Inc., a non-profit organization specializing in assisting individuals with disabilities and their families in understanding the United States social systems and benefits which may be available to them, will be our guest speaker.

Rogers MS Career Day is Friday, February 8, 2019
Career Day is rapidly approaching and we need your experience! Many of our students are unaware of the opportunities available to them and Career Day is a fantastic way to provide them with firsthand knowledge of potential career paths. This is also a great opportunity for you to get involved in Prosper ISD and inspire the youth of our community by sharing your career journey, a typical workday, education requirements and more. 2019-2020 school year Parent Information Night
5th grade moving to 6th grade during the 2019-2020 school year parent information night on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6:00-6:45 pm. 6th grade moving to 7th and 7th grade to 8th grade will be from 7:15-8:00 pm. The parent information nights will be held at the following campuses:
Rogers MS - students zoned for Rogers 2019-2020
Reynolds MS - students zoned for Reynolds 2019-2020
Hays MS will hold a parent information night at PHS.
Please be aware that school zoning will be communicated to parents prior to February 25, 2019.

Save the Date for ANGST
Thursday, February 21st at 6:00 pm, Rogers will be hosting a private screening of the acclaimed film 'Angst'. The film is intended to raise awareness about anxiety in youth and will leave you with a better understanding of what this anxiety looks like and how to respond to it in your child. Kroger Community Rewards
To use the Kroger Community Rewards Program
- Visit https://www.kroger.com
- Log into your Kroger account
- Select Savings & Rewards
- Select Kroger Community Rewards
- Search for Rogers Middle School PTO either by name or GA135 and then click Enroll.
- New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and rewards card.
- Customers must have a registered Kroger rewards card account to link to your organization.
- If a member does not yet have a Kroger rewards card, please let them know they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger.

PTO meetings are held the 2nd Friday of every month at 8am at Rogers. If you would like to get involved we would love to see you there. The next meeting is November 9th.
