Application Process
year-long Art 1 is offered to 7th graders & year-long art 2 is offered to 8th graders who took art 1 in 7th grade. Projects increase in difficulty level + a student's ability to create work from original concepts. Students are also expected to compete in a UIL art competition that takes place on a Saturday in Plano in the month of april. Students are also rewarded with an art tour field trip.
PORTFOLIO WORK | You will need to create 1 NEW artwork and you may also show some previously made artworks from home or a class.
PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION | Create a google slide. Insert images of your new and previous artwork, plus add text to explain the artwork and dates of completion. Upload it to the google form below.

Use this google form to discuss your experience, intentions, personal style, and name a teacher reference. You will also attach your slide show portfolio in the form.
Once the application window closes, the top 20-25 artists, based on skill & motivation, will be notified by email of their admittance. The remainder will remain in semester-long art 2. The list of 20-25 will be sent to the school counselors to add the year-long advanced art class to their schedule.
