Prosper ISD offers dual credit opportunities with Collin College. Students enrolled in dual credit courses earn both high school and college credit simultaneously. Qualified high school students may enroll in specific dual credit courses as listed in the Prosper ISD Course Catalog starting the summer after their sophomore year.
Classes not listed in the Prosper ISD Course Catalog will not be approved for dual credit purposes.
Beginning in the summer after the student’s sophomore year, qualified high school students may enroll in accredited Dual Credit courses. PISD offers Dual Credit opportunities in a number of core academic and career-focused areas.
Medical Terminology is available to sophomore students as well as juniors and seniors.
Students must meet college admission requirements and complete the application and registration process, including taking the TSIA (unless exempt). The Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS) helps students view transferable courses offered by each institution and how universities evaluate community college courses.
Dual credit grades are reported to the high school numerically. The numeric grade will be entered onto the transcript, weighted, and calculated in the student’s high school GPA.

Grades earned in Dual Credit courses taken in person during the fall and spring semester are weighted, calculated into the student’s high school GPA, and appear on the student’s high school and college transcript. Dual credit courses taken during summer school or online will not be calculated into the student’s high school GPA but will appear on the high school and college transcript.
