Parents,
Congratulations on your child placing at our UIL Academic campus meet and thank you for supporting your child by allowing them to participate in our 2026 UIL District competition. In order to ensure a smooth and successful meet, please read the following directions carefully so that we are all on the same page. Our goal is to give our students the opportunity to compete in the UIL Academic Competitions while also being considerate of the safety, time constraints, and well being of all our families and students.
DISTRICT MEET TESTING EVENTS TIME AND SCHEDULE
On March 7, 2026 at Jones Middle School, we will host our UIL District meet.
Parents should make careful note of the schedule below. Upon arriving on campus, parents should go to the cafeteria to find the table marked for your child’s event. Teachers will be there to escort them to their competition room. Parents will stay in the cafeteria so as to keep the testing areas quiet and clear.
Once their competition is complete, students will be escorted back to the cafeteria where they will wait for their parents to pick them up no later than 15 minutes after the designated end of competition.
Please note that students arriving after a test has begun will not be allowed to participate.

CLOTHING AT COMPETITIONS
We would ask that students competing in testing events at the district meet wear their UIL shirts or a campus shirt if you did not purchase the UIL shirt. Those competing in speaking events, we encourage to dress up.
IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION
We welcome parents to come with their student and stay while they are competing. We do ask that parents stay in the cafeteria/library area and not go down to classroom areas. In the cafeteria, there will be teachers to check in your students with and they will escort your child to the appropriate room and then bring them back into the cafeteria where the parents will be waiting after the test is over.
There are restrooms near the cafeteria.
If you drop your child off, please make sure that you have returned by the Last pickup time to retrieve your child.
Everyone should enter and exit through the front doors. Those advancing to finals in speaking events will be announced within 30 minutes of all students completing the prelims round. Parents and students are welcome to wait or can monitor results on the google slide that will be linked in the announcements on their campus page.
Good luck to ALL of our participants!
