VCDF
Introduction to the Volunteer Community Defense Force Initiative
The VCDF is a local, non-political, decentralized community-support network. Each chapter is organized, grouped, named, and recognized by its full ZIP+4 code and skill-based unit tags (e.g.,VCDF.20500-0004.admn). Chapters provide support only when existing emergency services—law enforcement, fire, EMS, or the National Guard—are unavailable, overwhelmed, or unable to respond.
To maintain decentralization, there should never be any governmental authority over local chapters. Each chapter invites all U.S. citizens over the age of 18—especially those with law enforcement, military, security, EMS, or fire experience—who reside or work within the chapter’s ZIP-code area to participate and encourage others to do the same. Each chapter, along with its units, operates independently and should remain self-sufficient.
The VCDF keeps no records of membership or participation—no real names, phone numbers, emails, or public identifiers. Members recognize one another through Session nicknames or through face-to-face interaction. Member registration and communication primarily use the free, decentralized Session chat app, which protects your identity with military-grade encryption and provides both private and public key IDs, keeping communication and identity private and secure.
Using a dedicated smartphone with only the Session app installed via F-Droid further enhances security. Maintaining the VCDF chapter/group syntax (e.g., VCDF.20500-0004.admn) is vital for potential future communication with other chapters if needed. After you join the admin Session group associated with your chapter’s ZIP+4 code, the admin will connect and vet you into the appropriate unit group based on your skill set. For example, individuals with security or law enforcement experience would be added to the security group (e.g., VCDF.20500-0004.sec). Skill-set unit tags presently considered: admn, comms, it, ops, intel, uav, logi, med, sec, train, hrfs, lcc, cg.

Attention: The VCDF should be open for all patriotic, law-abiding American citizens to participate and have no political relationships.
