Community Care, the Allegheny County Office of Behavioral Health and Allegheny HealthChoices, Inc. are excited to invite you to a kick-off meeting to launch our “Reading, Writing, and Resilience: Navigating the Return to the Classroom” initiative. The kick-off meeting will be held by webinar on Friday, August 20th, from 8:30-9:00am. The link can be found at the bottom of this invitation.
Many of us are experiencing an increased level of stress at this time during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Feeling stressed and anxious is a very common and normal reaction in times of fear and uncertainty. We expect that these and other behavioral health concerns may emerge as our young people return to the classroom this fall after many months of remote learning and other pandemic mitigation efforts.
The goal of this initiative is to help our children and youth, their families, schools, and behavioral health providers to better navigate the return to classroom and all the change that will bring. The initiative will include informative webinars, tip sheets, ideas about staying well, and where to turn if young persons need additional behavioral health supports around the COVID-19 crisis.
