I received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from

Bridgewater State College and a Master's in Education from Curry College.

I taught private full-day Kindergarten in Leominster for two years and

then moved to North Carolina where I taught full-day Kindergarten for six

years. I moved back to Massachusetts in 2000 and began my career at

Houghton teaching Grade 1. This will be my 26th year teaching first grade

at Houghton, and I couldn't be happier. I've completed additional graduate

classes in the field of teaching reading, math, and other areas of learning to

further my knowledge and ability to teach your children. I am married to my

wonderful husband Steve and we have two amazing boys, Daniel and Benjamin.

They are all very supportive and understanding of the time and effort I put

into teaching. We also have a dog named James and two cats, Lily and Sammie.

Mission For The Class

Our classroom is a child centered classroom where every child is treated

with kindness and respect and encouraged to always put forth their best

effort. I believe it is my obligation to help each child grow both

academically and socially through developmentally appropriate practices and

activities that support the learning standards. I hope to foster a love for

learning and a desire to always try to live by our school values: RESPECT,

RESPONSIBILITY, HONESTY, KINDNESS, and COOPERATION.
