About Me

Hello, my name is Mr. Bob Mayer and I'd like to welcome you to my classroom. I've always enjoyed teaching and got my start when I was in middle school working at a summer drama camp. From there while I was in college studying Elementary and Kindergarten Education at the Pennsylvania State University, I worked as a Pre-K teacher and as a Resident Assistant counseling, assisting, and working with college students on and off campus. I moved down to North Carolina and continued to work in Pre-K before Joining Wake County as a Second Grade Teacher and now I'm loving 4th grade!

Through my years in varying classrooms I have developed a wonderful classroom philosophy. I believe in having fun while we learn. I run a goofy classroom. Through the goofiness we grow close as a team and are very successful at accomplishing our goals. We learn how to have fun while we work and to differentiate between when its time to play, when its time to work, and when we can do both. I believe this helps my students enjoy their time in my room and also leads to an increase in positive behavior.
