Q: Who is this workshop for?
A: Everyone: whether you are new to statistics or an experienced researcher, this workshop will help you add new skills to your toolkit.
Q: Is it only for students?
A: Not at all! Experienced researchers will find this helpful too.
Q: What level of background knowledge is assumed?
A: All participants who are interested in learning more are welcome. Some basic knowledge of statistics is helpful but not required.
Q: I’m really bad at math; will I be able to follow?
A: Definitely; no advanced math skills are required.
Q: Can I attend just one or two of the three parts of the one-day workshop?
A: Yes, but as the courses partly build on one another we would recommend attending all three parts of the workshop.
Q: Will the video be available after the workshop?
Yes, for one week.
Q: I’m in a very different time zone from you, can I still participate?
A: Yes, the workshop will be recorded and registered participants will have access to the video for one week.
Q: What software package will be used?
A: We will be using Excel, R and R Studio. Please download R (https://cran.r-project.org/) and RStudio (https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/ ) to your computer if you wish to follow along with the in-class activities.
Q: Can I work on my own dataset during the course?
A: We will provide datasets to practice on; you can later use the code provided to work on your own data.
