What is UTR? UTR stands for Universal Tennis Ratings. UTR rates players on a scale of 1-16.5 and allows players to measure themselves against players of all levels. What is a progressive draw? A progressive draw is a format where players start at various stages of the tournament based on their level. In this case the UTR rating is used. If you keep winning you will face tougher and tougher opponents.

What does level based competition mean? Level based simply means that the tournament is not divided by age or gender, but by level. The idea is that players will face opponents close to their own level. It has been proven that the fastest way to improve is to play opponents close to your own level.

What are some of the other benefits of level based events? Level based events provide a chance for bigger draws and greater variety of opponents versus a normal age group tournament where players often play the same opponents each event. It's also an opportunity to play players of all styles and types of games. Simply put... it's just about beating the player on the other side of the net no matter what their age or gender is.

Why is having a UTR rating important? If you want to play college tennis you must have a UTR rating and it should be close to 100% reliability. This is the first thing that an interested coach will search. UTR ratings are now used in the United States and the UK and when entering a tournament they will usually ask for your UTR.

When did UTR events start in Indonesia? The first UTR events in Indonesia took place in August 2016.
