Ysabelle is a rising senior interested in the medical field. She is currently in AP Biology and is involved with Science Olympiad, CSF, and Senate and Cabinet. Over the summer she had the opportunity to attend the National Congress of Medical Leaders in Massachusetts as well as being part of a research camp, FIRST Experience, in California Northstate University. She also volunteered at her local Boys and Girls Club where she got to experience teaching younger kids. Ysabelle plans to attend Saint Mary's College of California this fall for a major in Biology.
Madeline is a Senior in high school and a hardworking AP student. She has played tennis for 4 years and has played the trumpet for six years. Alongside her academics, Madeline has served as the president of the Saint Mary’s Key Club for two years and has helped coordinate a variety of donation drives and fundraisers to help prevent Pediatric Trauma. In her spare time, Madeline loves to hang out with her friends, photograph, and travel. Going into college, she plans to major in Political Science with the hopes of attending law school soon after.
Sepenta is a junior at Lincoln High School who currently takes honors and AP classes. Sepenta is the president of the Mathletes Club and the vice president of Science Olympiad at Lincoln. She is passionate about math and science subjects such as algebra and chemistry. Outside of school, Sepenta enjoys playing soccer and being a part of CASC, a leadership organization.
Chris Canzano is a Junior at SMHS who values academics and community service. Chris is the recipient of multiple departmental awards for his many AP and Honors classes at SMHS. He proudly represents SMHS in Model UN, Campus Ministry, LINK crew, and Chapel Ambassador. He is a HOBY award recipient for 2019, Principal’s Award recipient, and Boys State Delegate Winner for 2020. In addition, Chris has been a member of the SM Varsity Trap Team since freshman year and was a member of the SM Varsity Track and Field. Outside of school, Chris volunteers at St. Mary’s Dining Hall and the Stockton Homeless Shelter where he teaches weekly classes.
Sammy has takTutor classes so far, and multiple other honors classes. She plans to take 4 more AP classes next year. She was a part of CJSF throughout middle school and how she is in CSF as a high schooler. She very much enjoys school (thought she didn't use to! haha) and is very involved on campus, mainly with theatre, choir, and Campus Ministry. She has always gotten a lot of satisfaction out of helping others, so she's very excited about being able to do some good with this program! Sammy is stronger in English and History, though she very much has a "can do" attitude and is willing to do her best to help your child with any subject they need help with.
Frances has been involved in extracurriculars and honors classes her entire academic career, currently being part of ten clubs/activities, including STEM, Key Club, and Student Council, and a total of seven AP classes by the end of this year. Her strengths lie in math and English, but she is constantly fascinated by the sciences and history. She appreciates the arts and enjoys spending her time crafting, cooking/baking, doing puzzles, and volunteering. She believes in helping anyone out if she's able and hopes everyone can see their potential to success. Frances plans on majoring in Chemical Engineering at UC Davis this fall.
Michael is a current Junior and AP student at Saint Mary's High School. He has played Football for 2 years and played the guitar for a year now at intermediate skill. Besides his studies, Michael has participated in his school's Christian Relief Outreach Project (CROP) Club and Math Club. He has recently, in the past summer, been a counselor for the Saint Luke's Summer Camp! After High School, He has plans to study in mechanical engineering and one day become an Imagineer. Michael loves Mathematics and likes to play his guitar for 2-3 hours a day.
Sadie is a dedicated Honors and AP student. She has played piano for 11 years, and she plays saxophone, trombone, baritone, and percussion in an assortment of bands, including Saint Mary’s band and several community bands. She has been on stage crew for SM theatre since her freshman year, this year as Stage Manager. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, reading, hiking, watching movies, and hanging out with her dog. In college she hopes to study engineering, and her dream job is to be an Imagineer for Disneyland!
Zibby is a STUTORn high school and is deeply involved in academics and extracurriculars at her school. She has taken several AP and Honors courses and has been involved in the theater program for 4 years at SMHS. Along with her academics she is the president of the Saint Mary’s Book Club, involved in the SM Cabinet group, is in Campus Ministry, a leader of the Salesian Leadership Club, is in Link Crew, and is a part of the Principles Advisory Council. In her spare time, Zibby loves volunteering for Community Hospice, hanging out with her friends, playing the acoustic guitar and ukulele, and helping out on her family's ranch. Next year she will be majoring in psychology at University of the Pacific and was just accepted into the Legal Honors Program.
As a student who loves his time at school, Carlo has been involved in multiple honors and AP classes. He has a great appreciation for the arts, dedicating his free-time to his school’s symphonic band, drumline, and most importantly the Saint Mary’s High School Theater Department. Taking the stage in 2018, he recently took on the roles of Lumiere in the 2019 spring production of “Beauty and the Beast” and Simon Stinson from “Our Town” in the fall of the same year, teaching him balance between extracurriculars and schoolwork. Besides school related activities, Carlo absolutely LOVES to travel and explore different cultures, the previous summer joining a Japanese exchange student program where he was able to interact with Japanese culture and furthermore act as a student ambassador for Stockton to Japan’s sister city of Shizuoka. Lastly, for college he plans to study medicine and work in the pediatric field.
Emilie Autran is a junior at Lincoln High School. She has been an AP and Honors student her entire high school career, and is always seeking to better herself and those around her. She currently holds many leadership positions for her high school clubs and enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters. She is very passionate about helping others and prioritizes facilitating an environment of positivity and acceptance.
Tara is a junior at Lincoln High School and takes several AP and honors classes. She loves to meet new people and be involved in her community. She is very passionate about her studies in science and mathematics. She is an active publicity officer for Lincoln High's STEM Club as well as Science Olympiad, and also spends her time being involved in her school's Mock Trial Team. Outside of school, Tara enjoys tutoring, volunteering, and hanging out with friends and family.
Maria is currently a junior at Saint Mary’s and is actively involved in her community. She is an avid learner who takes AP and honors classes and also partakes in extracurricular such as the SM multicultural club. She plays two sports at the varsity level, badminton and basketball, and wishes to continue playing them into her senior year. Maria also volunteers at Presentation Parish, altar-serving with her younger sister in the Sunday morning masses. In the future, she plans on studying medicine and one day becoming a doctor so that she can help others.
Hannah is currently a junior at Saint Mary’s and is actively involved in her community. She takes multiple AP classes and is involved in multiple extracurricular activities. She is an active member of the SM Multicultural Club, an officer elect for next term’s Key Club as President, and plays Badminton at a varsity level. Outside of school, Hannah is active at a temple and has also helped with the construction and starting of a temple. She also helps with a family business where she uses her communication skills to attend to coming and going clients. In the future, she hopes to major in business and become a corporate lawyer and real-estate lawyer.
Reka is a current junior at Saint Mary's High School who has a passion for helping students. For the past 6 years, she has been a chess coach for kids at summer camps, a tournament director at hundreds of scholastic chess events, and a dedicated tutor for students of all ages. At school, she is a commissioner for SM Link Crew, a member of the Varsity Girls’ Golf Team, and a proud Model UN delegate. She has extensive experience in Honors and AP classes, her favorite subjects are Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, and Italian. Her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, which she recite by heart. Reka plans to attend University of Chicago or Yale, majoring in Economics, eventually continuing her studies in Law School.
Romina is currently a junior attending Saint Mary’s High School. She has taken all honors/AP level courses available to her and has a devoted passion toward science. She has medaled at Regionals for Science Olympiad for multiple events while attending Tokay High School as well as coaches Science Olympiad at a local elementary school weekly. Alongside of Science Olympiad, she will be the future president of Think Pink Club which donates handmade blankets to breast cancer patients in hospitals. She has lots of experience with tutoring and always loves to smile. Outside of school, she loves to dance, figure skate, read, play with her dog. She hopes to pursue a biology/psychology major in the future.
Tucker is currently a junior at Lincoln High School who takes AP classes and is involved in student leadership organizations. In his free time, Tucker enjoys working on community projects, reading the news, and playing guitar.
Josie Russell is a sophomore at Stagg High School who takes English Honors and AVID. Josie is a current member of Stagg's Black Student Union and is a part of the Yearbook Staff. She has a huge love for music and likes to write songs in her spare time. Her lifelong dream is to become a musician and graduate from NYU. Helping others is Josie's strong suit and seeing a good outcome from it brings her happiness.
Simran is a junior at Middle College High School, who takes college classes at the same time as her high school classes. She decided to help with the initiative because she really would like to work closely with kids and parents to establish a long term positive effect. With her experience in high school, Simran believes she can be an asset to kids who may require assistance in school as well as any outside problems they may have, In her free time, Simran likes to shop and hang out with her friends because it's therapeutic to her.
Felix is a junior at Middle College High School. He is a member of Key Club and he loves to help out the community. Some of his hobbies include reading, gaming, and learning languages such as Spanish and French. Felix decided to become a tutor because he knows that many students can't get the educational mentoring that they need during these difficult times. He hopes that he can bridge any difficulties that students may face by volunteering for the initiative.
Audreen is a junior at Middle College High School. He is currently a member of MESA and Key Club and loves to play competitive soccer on the side. Some of his hobbies include reading, playing music, gaming, and playing soccer. Audreen decided to become a tutor because he’s always wanted to help others with their education and now that he has a lot more free time he can finally do so. He hopes that he can assist anyone with any problems they may be facing and to help people whenever he can.
Agamjot is a junior at Middle College High School. He decided to help out because he wanted to be involved in the student community and provide enrichment and educational services those who need a little extra boost in these troubling times. Agamjot is involved in his school’s Key Club, and loves to play tennis, read, collect coins, and play video games.
Joe is currently a junior at Saint Mary's High School. He is in several AP and honors classes and maintains a high GPA. Joe has ran varsity for cross country and track ever since freshman year and is involved in several clubs at school. He is in the Salesian Leadership Club, Campus Ministry, and Senate and Cabinet. Joe is a lifeguard over the summer and is a basketball referee for the Upward Basketball Team. After High School, Joe plans to study medicine, business, or law. In his free time, Joe loves to run, hike, and hang out with his friends.
Justin Camales is an 11th grader at Middle College High School. He is a member of Key Club, MESA, and is an Academic Decathlete. He has been a lead programmer for Magnitude.io’s CanSat and a meteorologist for Habhub. His hobbies include reading, bowling, and collecting historical buttons. He is always ready to listen and respond to any concerns his peers may have when it comes with learning difficult topics.
