Available Positions:

1. Postdoc (one position)

Eligibility : Ph.D in the field of solid state devices, superconducting circuits, microwave engineering, experimental condensed matter physics with experience in device fabrication.

Remuneration :

1st Year : Rs. 58280.00/month (consolidated, including HRA)

With set increment, tenure is extendable upto 2 years.

2. Project Assistant (one position)

Eligibility : M.Sc or B. Tech in the field of physics, electronics, materials science with some lab and hands-on experience in evaporation and sputtering techniques.

Remuneration :

1st Year : Rs. 38440.00/month (consolidated, including HRA)

With set increment, tenure is extendable upto 2 years.

Tentative start date of the positions: October 2022.

Non-exponential decay of a giant artificial atomBy coupling a superconducting qubit to surface acoustic waves the ‘giant atom’ regime is realized, where an atom is coupled to a field with wavelength orders of magnitude smaller than the atomic size. This leads to non-Markovian qubit dynamics.

Study shows the non-exponential decay of a giant artificial atomTo date, research in quantum optics has primarily investigated the relation between light and matter using small atoms interacting with electromagnetic fields that have substantially larger wavelengths. In an unconventional new study, a team at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light set out to explore the interaction between a large atom and acoustic fields with wavelengths several orders of magnitude below the atomic dimensions.
