WHY SUPPORT PTSA?

Norco PTSA Annual Dues are $10 per person

No meeting attendance required!

(But you are welcome to attend if you wish!)

There is no pressure to volunteer, but know that you are always invited.

Participate as little or as much as you want.

There are many other types of parent groups out there, but there is only one PTSA!

Connecting families and schools for more than 120 years, PTA is the largest children's advocacy organization in the country. Norco High PTSA has been serving the students and NHS community since 1991.

Here are just some of the reasons to join PTSA:

• Students Come First! At the high school level, the "S" in PTSA is for "STUDENTS". PTSA's are no different in our mission than the nationally recognized PTA, except that students are encouraged to serve in leadership roles on the PTSA board. At the high school level, we know that our students are bright and developing leadership skills of their own. We need to hear their voices in order to best serve the student population at NHS.

• Opportunities For Students. Norco High School student members are invited to apply for several scholarships, serve as an official PTSA student representative, acquire volunteer hours, and apply to attend the annual California State PTA Legislation Conference in Sacramento.

• Get Connected. There's no better way to know what's happening in your school, or to develop a relationship with your teachers and principal.

• Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

• Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

• Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

• Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

• Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTSA member, you'll be demonstrating the importance you place on education, and giving back.

• Witness Improvements. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social events.

• Share Ideas. Norco PTSA currently raises funds to help beautify our campus, as well as supplement resources available to our teachers and staff. From purchasing shade covers for students to use at lunch, to purchasing school supplies for our classrooms, what we do impacts our students' well-being in a positive way. But we need your ideas too! PTSA gives you a "seat at the table" when important decisions are made about your school.

• Make a Difference! By working together, PTSA members have helped advance local, state and national laws and policies to improve the education, health and safety of all children.
