After 25 years, NJDEAF - New Jersey Deaf Education Affiliates has agreed to dissolve.
This was a difficult decision, but unforeseen circumstances have facilitated our Committee resolution. In the weeks ahead, we will post tributes to past Keynotes and Presenters, Committee members over the years, acknowledgments, and wonderful photos depicting the best of New Jersey's Deaf Education professionals, parents, and organizations. We are hopeful that another generation might envision a renewed state-wide organization.
Our heartfelt thanks to all of the Interpreters and CART providers over the years made available through DDHH and Cathy Grelinger; a special thanks to Lori Adams, Monica Ayrer, Kathy Frejohn, Steve Toth, Dena Hazen, Karen Jacobs, Jeanette Voight, Peter Felipowicz.
Thanks to just SOME of our Vendors: Fuzzy Wuzzy Designs, Lakeshore Learning, The NJ School for the Deaf, Phonak, Dawn Sign Press, DDHH, The Center for Sensory & Complex Disabilities at TCNJ, Cued Speech Association, NJ Relay and CapTel, Meet Pah Media, Purple Communication, C-Print, Sorensen Communication, Oticon, and Hand and Voices.
Kudos to our Co-founders Melanie Phillips and Dr. Candi Mascia Reed, as well as current Committee members, we would be happy to give any advice that is needed in this future endeavor.
Thank you all; it has been an honor and an adventure!
Dr. Candi Mascia Reed and Melanie Phillips, Co-Founders, NJDEAF
