why The HONYAKU PROJECT?

Honyaku means "translation"

The Honyaku Project concept came from a discussion I had with Hatsumi Sensei many years ago. Many countries do not have access to the Bujinkan books because they cannot understand English.

The Honyaku project will help many Bujinkan practitioners to learn our art. In many countries, people don't speak or read English. They cannot get access to the majority of Bujinkan sources.

The Honyaku Project is your chance to help your fellow Buyū.

What is IN a KOI e-book?

Each e-book at Koimartialart e-dition consists of a text of about 30 to 45 A4 pages plus a lot of pictures. If you are willing to help by translating 5 to 10 pages, we can have the e-book in your language in no time. Imagine a 30 A4 book. Six Portuguese nationals translate five pages each in Portuguese. It should take them only a few hours.

The next day, the book is reviewed by the Language Koi Coordinator (see the LKC presentation below), when approved, we put it in the existing English e-book template, and 24 hour later, the e-book is available at Amazon.

With the magic of the internet, each new e-book in English can be available in another language in one or two weeks!

This system is already active with my friend Elias for the Spanish versions.

to be part of it, what do I have to do?

1. To volunteer for it, please send a mail in English at koimartialart@gmail.com introducing your Bujinkan resume, the dōjō website URL, blog, etc.

2. If you are accepted, you receive 5 x A4 pages to translate into your language (expect a delay of 1 to 2 days).

3. You send the translated text back to koimartialart@gmail.com That's all!

4. If you want to do more, ask for another set of pages.

What is in there for you?

By participating in this Honyaku Project, you will get more visibility and a fantastic way to promote your dōjō and here is why.

Each one of you translating some part of a book will get:

your name in the book, "translated by ..."
your dōjō website in the book, "www.xxx..."
your social media: facebook, twitter, instagram, linkedIn etc
and all relevant Bujinkan information that you want to share
plus you get a free copy of the e-book when it is published.

into which langage to translate?

Yours and all of them if possible!

Naturally, we will begin with the more logical ones: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Russian, Hungarian.

But any other language is fine because the more languages we have, the better the Bujinkan community is developing.

FYI: A translation into Arabic (UAE) of my first e-book is under way.

Honyaku Project: language koi coordinator

For each language we will need a Language Koi Coordinator (LKC) to check the quality of the translated texts and to "harmonise" them.
