Founding Fleet Admiral Christie was initially an alternative character for T'Pia, a Vice Admiral in Task Force Charlie Alpha of the Highguard Armada. Along with Celes, also an alternative character for Debora (RA of TFCA), the two founded Charlie's Wrenchineers as a sister fleet within that armada as a way to bring in new members, accelerate Fleet Credits production, and fill out more of the armada's Gamma Fleet slots.
Over time, Charlie's Wrenchineers began to take real form and grow beyond its original intent, rapidly gaining strength of facilities and numbers, and it was determined with a vote of the Wrenchineer officers that it was time to leave the Highguard armada behind and expand outward on our own.
Almost as soon as the vote was unanimously passed, Co-Admirals Christie and Celes became acquainted with Admiral Lar Gand of the Iron Eagles and Admiral Gater of the LGBT of Starfleet 9th Order. Through a detailed discussion and immediate recognition of our very common goals, the Wrenchineers were quickly invited into the LGBT of Starfleet 9th Order Armada (commonly simply known as the LGBT Armada). Our addition as a Gamma Fleet under the Iron Eagles completed the LGBT Armada for a full 13.
Shortly after making the transition, the fleet determined the need for a new identity, ultimately settling on "IDIC Preservation Agency", as a reflection of our agape acceptance of all walks of life and valuation of everyone's Right to Be in peace. Our primary guiding tenet has been that no form of intolerance is acceptable and that diversity is our greatest strength. Our membership includes people of all races, sexes, creeds, religions, sexual orientations, nationalities, and otherwise and we are the better for it.
In early November, 2020, friction between the leadership of IDIC and the leadership of the LGBT armada developed over disagreements in modus operandi of management. Through a lengthy discussion, the command staff of IDIC determined that these differences could not be reconciled and it was time to move on again. A continuation of this command discussion led to the decision that it was time to forge ahead and carve our path. IDIC approached our original parent fleet, Task Force Charlie Alpha, and petitioned the formation of a new armada between us. A charter was quickly agreed upon and a commitment to a new idea between us. IDIC stands ready to prove an example of open acceptance, respect, and virtue.
If nothing else, our claim to fame is that we have never left a newer player behind and we have catapulted our stronger players further ahead, each purely for the love of celebrating our collective successes. We have taken in brand new players and given any assistance possible with patience, understanding, and genuine care. We have taken in powerful veterans and sometimes learned from them as much as they have learned from us. IDIC strives to foster the team aspects of the game as much as we possibly can by hosting events, promoting in-house teaming for goal completion and community-building, and studying the best methods for accomplishing tasks in timely and less-stressful manner.
Now, several years into our run as an armada, we have filled our Beta Fleet positions by welcoming The Highguard and Forever Rebels fleets, each bringing several Gamma fleets into the fold as well. The IDIC Armada is picking up traction and we can now manage successful colony invasion simulations even when we're down to 12 hands on deck! We're powerhousing through finalizing Colony upgrades for all of the most developed fleets, which will give us the freedom and power to burst resources into our developing comrades, elevating the entire armada substantially.
We still have some open Gamma fleet positions we would love to fill with active team-players so we can fill up events with other people excited to share in the community experience!
