The General Service Representatives Committee (GSR Committee) is composed of all of the General Service Representatives (GSRs) In UA. Each Group and each Intergroup is authorized to elect one GSR who represents their Group or Intergroup at GSR Committee meetings and at the World Service Conference.
The GSR Committee was formed in December 2016 as a result of a motion passed at the 2016 World Service Conference:
“To create a GSR Committee with the mission to meet monthly in a phone meeting of 1 and ½ hours, following
Robert’s Rules, to address issues and facilitate communication and action.”
One of the primary reasons for the GSR Committee is to provide a place for the GSRs to have Group conscience votes on issues after getting feedback from their Groups, and to take the recommendations and motions to the GSB and to the World Service Conference. In addition, the GSRs report back to their Groups after attending the World Service Conference, GSR Committee and GSB meetings.
The GSRC is the first committee to be established as part of a new branch of committees in UA called the “World Service Conference Committees.” The name of this branch was later changed to “World Service Conference-Approved Committees” at the WSC 2019, since the World Service Conference/Convocation is responsible for approving the creation of each such committee in UA’s service structure.
