I am a junior majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and minoring in Mechanical Engineering at WPI. I was looking forward to traveling to Denmark for the IQP experience, as this was one of the main reason I chose to attend WPI. I am proud to be making the best out of the current circumstances and I am thankful for my fellow group mates, advisors, the Denmark group, my family and friends, and everyone else who has helped with the transition to our new IQP project. I am hopeful that the results from our new project can be used to potentially improve the experience of students in the future.
I'm a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Drama/Theater at WPI. At the time of abroad trips being canceled, I was really disappointed and disheartened. The IQP experience was something I, and the other 280 something students, had been looking forward to and isn't something that can be made up for in the future. I had really enjoyed working with all the students going to Denmark and am sad to not have that experience with them. But I'm glad I've been able to take this time to be home with my family and talk to students and faculty, as we're all in this situation together.
I am a junior Chemical Engineering major and, as you could probably guess by the theme of these bios, I was also very disappointed to learn that the study abroad program that I was working all year towards was canceled. It was the right decision, but not easy to be told this. Even still, being able to work with my groupmates and the other students that were going on IQP this term has been great and I hope that the research that we have done will be of use to schools in case of future events.
