... And We're Off!

July was a busy month for us! Christa's photography business ramped up for the busy wedding season and I took the lead in checking off ALL the items on our Prepare-for-Japan-To-Do List.

Each month, we have decided to make a 1 Second Everyday video to quickly highlight the many things we are up to on a daily basis. Check out our first one for the month of July below!

What this 30 second video captures well is how much time we spent with loved ones last month. So many people wanted to host us, to get some last minute time with us, and to send us off well. In the midst of the hectic errands, these moments of community and care were incredibly precious to us.

Following God's calling to leave for Japan will come with sacrifices. Our community of friends and family is by far the biggest sacrifice. Obviously we are extremely excited to be here in Nagoya, ready to see what the Lord has planned, but we did not expect to be so sad so soon. We miss our home.

But thanks be to God that we have a sympathetic high priest, Jesus Christ, who left the comfort and community of Heaven itself, who wandered in a foreign land, and who was tempted in ever way as we are. To Him we set our eyes to strengthen our faith and our hope. Please pray that the love of God would be our joy and rest, our comfort and strength, and that the hope of a new home would become more precious to us.
