The archery disciplines are split into two main categories compound and recurve. Archers may begin this discipline at the 4-H age of 8 and continue through their entire 4-H career. Youth in the junior age level (8-13) are allowed to compete in 9 and/or 18 meter events. Those 4-Her's of the senior age level (14-18) are only allowed to compete in the 18 meter event ONLY.
